James Schramko here. Today, I’m going to answer the question — do you need to wake up at 6:15 am if you’re a millionaire?
Look, I don’t know if you’ve seen it, but I saw a video recently from a guru. And they said, you have to wake up at 6:15 if you want to be a millionaire. And I would say that would probably only be true if you follow that person. Because I know for a fact you don’t have to.
In fact, if you go to bed early enough and you’re doing exercise during the day, and you don’t overstimulate yourself at night, you can wake up naturally even with the sunrise. You could actually wake up earlier than 6:15 without an alarm clock, if you want. But I will say a huge degree of your life can be controlled by you.
If you want to design a life where you don’t have to attend a meeting or an appointment at seven in the morning, and you don’t want to wake up at 6:15, you don’t have to. So be careful where you get your advice is my main point today.
And you can customize your life. In my book, Work Less Make More, I give a few ideas around how you can start changing the way that you operate. In my world, for example, I take Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday off from external calls. I can wake up whenever I feel like it. I still surf every day so I get my exercise. I feel fantastic. And when I do work on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, I make sure that I get enough rest so that I wake up naturally anyway.
So if you are using an alarm clock every single day, I would question that and I’d say you’re failing at some level. And it doesn’t have to be that way.
